Frequently Asked Questions
-
Usually, 5 drams (a standard 25ml measure) are chosen to taste very differently from each other. These are usually Scottish but can include whiskies from anywhere. They are typically not mainstream bottles, so likely expressions attendees have not tried before. The lineup is poured ‘blind’, meaning drinkers will not know what is in the glass until the identity is revealed after tasters have had the chance to judge character and quality.
The idea is to share some drams with like-minded people in a sales-free environment with a “laugh as you learn” approach to hosting.

Currently, there are 2 main Edinburgh pubs I use for the regular events but we’ve drunk in all sorts of places including canal barges, castles and palaces.
-
The scheduled sessions are normally on a Sunday afternoon, roughly every 3 weeks, but private and corporate events can be booked to your requirements.
